2013 NFL PREDICTIONS!!! (TYLER)
THE TEBOW-LESS JAGS!

For Day 11 of my 2013 NFL Predictions we will break down the JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS!

The Jaguars have struggled since expanding into the NFL with the Panthers, poor coaching, poor play, poor attendance has made things tough on this franchise. The lone bright spot on this team is RB Maurice Jones-Drew who throughout all the trouble with this team has been one of the best running backs in the NFL.Rising star WR Justin Blackmon shows some signs last year that he could become an elite WR but needs someone to get him the ball. This team has so many needs both on offense and defense to the point that many fans are hoping that the Jags bring in QB Tim Tebow to save them. (smirk from me) Let's take a look at the latest draft picks from the Jags.

Round 1: Luke Joeckel OT (Texas A&M)
Round 2: John Cyprien FS (Florida International)
Round 3: Dwayne Gratz CB (Connecticut)
Round 4: Ace Sanders WR (South Carolina)
Round 5: Denard Robinson WR (Michigan)
Round 6: Josh Evans FS (Florida)
Round 7: Jeremy Harris CB (New Mexico State)
Round 7: Demetrius McCray CB (Appalachian State)

Honestly the Jags couldn't go wrong in the draft because they have so many needs, but overall they drafted well. Getting one of the best tackles coming out of college will help shore up a terrible offensive line for years to come, drafting heavily around defensive secondary ,including one of my favorite safeties from the Senior Bowl John Cyprien, will help strengthen a terrible defensive backfield. The most interesting pickup in the draft was former Michigan QB Denard Robinson, because the Jags did pass on picking up Tim Tebow to draft another college QB that can't play QB in the NFL? At least Robinson is willing to switch positions to WR to try to make a roster and play the game.

Now lets take a look at how i predict the Jags 2013 season faring.

FINAL RECORD                          2 - 14

Analysis: This team won't really improve any from last year, i don't feel that they have all the pieces yet to really threaten too many teams they will play this year. I do think they will sneak in a couple wins which i predicted will come against Arizona and Buffalo, both wins are at home even though the Jags don't really have a strong home presence. Could this team even be a threat in coming years? I think that all depends on the management, Jones-Drew won't be around forever to carry the workload on offense, but after a few more good drafts including shooting for a star to build around this team could make strides and start to threaten the division. Just not right now.

What do you think?

  1. I hate to say it, but I think another possible win could be against Oakland. I love the Raiders, but they still have too many holes as well. Th only thing that goes against the Jags in that game is tthat it is in Oakland. I think Jones-Drew will run all over that defense though. Plus the new QB will still be figuring out what everything that early in the season.

I also think that the first game against KC could be an interesting "who wants to lose most game".

  2. I think you are being kind with 2 wins this team has no reliable qb blackmon is suspended for the first part of the season they might get a lucky win because no one has seen denard Robinson on tape yet so like tebow he might fool a team or two for awhile. I think this could be the #1 pick next year and their schedule doesn't help them much either

  3. Andrew it could definitely happen, i wouldn't be suprised. Oakland has done a lot to try to shore up the defense but who knows how it will all work out. Heath i'm with ya, this team is a mess, but teams just don't go 0-16 often.
